dc.description	The study discussed the role of the zakat bureau in reducing and addressing the widespread phenomenon of poverty in the state of White Nile, where poverty is a social phenomenon of multiple dimensions that are closely related to development. The reduction of poverty is undoubtedly an unrivaled target. Natural disasters, civil strife and displacement from production areas to major cities are among the causes of poverty in the state. The study aimed to identify the dimensions of poverty levels in the state and the reasons for its spread. The mechanisms of the Zakat Bureau to address the phenomenon of poverty were evaluated as well as the most important projects submitted by that body to combat poverty. Statistical data for the study were analyzed using the descriptive analytical method in the computer namely, through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The main findings of the study were that the State Zakat Bureau has contributed in combating poverty in the state. The most important recommendations of the study were that the projects targeted by the Zakat Bureau to combat poverty focus on emergent solutions in the short term and the Bureau can rely on sustainable projects in this regard. dc.description.abstract	تناولت الدراسة دور ديوان الزكاة في الحد ومعالجة ظاهرة الفقر المتفشي في بولاية النيل الأبيض، حيث يعد الفقر من الظواهر الاجتماعية ذات الأبعاد المتعددة التي ترتبط ارتباطا وثيقا بالتنمية. مما لاشك إن تقليل الفقر يعتبر هدفا لا تختلف حوله المجتمعات وتعد الكوارث الطبيعية والنزاعات الأهلية والنزوح من مناطق الإنتاج إلي المدن الرئيسة من أسباب تفشي الفقر في الولاية. هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على أبعاد مستويات الفقر بالولاية وأسباب انتشاره حيث قيمت الدراسة آليات ديوان الزكاة في معالجة ظاهرة الفقر كذلك الوقوف على أهم المشاريع المقدمة من تلك الجهة لمكافحة الفقر. تم تحليل البيانات الإحصائية للدراسة باستخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في الحاسب الآلي تحديدا بواسطة برنامج الحزمة الإحصائية للعلوم الاجتماعية (SPSS). توصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من النتائج أهمها هي: أن ديوان الزكاة قد ساهم في مكافحة الفقر في الولاية ومن أهم توصيات الدراسة أن المشاريع التي يستهدفها ديوان الزكاة لمكافحة الفقر تركز على الحلول الإسعافية على المدى القصير ويمكن للديوان الاعتماد على المشاريع المستدامة في ذلك. الكلمات المفتاحية: الزكاة، الفقر، ديوان الزكاة، المشاريع المستدامة.	en_US
