The study focused on the scientific framework that establishes the application of
radio planning as an administrative method and a vision to attract the audience, and
represented the research problem in a main question: "What is the role of Planning
Radio Programs (P.R.P.) to attract the audience?" The research aimed to provide an
appropriate theoretical framework that highlights the role of (P.R.P.) on the success
of Local Radio Stations (L.R.S.) in attracting audiences, the importance of the
research is to identify the importance of (L.R.S.) in the local community, and
assessment the basis and reality of (P.R.P.) process in (L.R.S.) of Kosti. The study
tested three hypotheses, the first addressed the relation between a good (P.R.P.) and
increase the level of listening ratio to local radio stations, while the second provides
a relation between good (P.R.P.) and the emergence of positive trends from the
audience to the local radio, and the third hypothesis states, the existence of a
relation between Good (P.R.P.) and adoption of a local tribes language.
The methodology of the study followed the historical and adductive approach.
Of the study most important results that Kosti Local Radio practice some sort of
(P.R.P.) also taking into consideration the targeted objectives due the planning
process of the radio programs, the staff are uncertainly to (P.R.P.) concept and
program cycle in addition to missing participation in the planning process,
Communication difficulties between the station and the rural audience effect the
integrity of radio service providing, Weakness the ability of the provided Folklor
program on attracting the local audience, meanwhile a superior ability of the
religious program FATAWI on air in attracting the audience.
The most important recommendations are: The local station should increase the
scientific and academic scales of the occupied staff, and encourage them for
specialized and post graduate degrees, also increase the training dose and
awareness for the staff to crystalize the communication media private concepts of
radio programs planning and local planning under the impact of national plans, and
the importance of audience survey in measuring the audience directions and
opinions on a regular periodical basis, developing radio programs in accordance of
local audience desires to accomplish the (P.R.P.) targets and reaching the
satisfactions of the audience. |
