Abstract:
The project aimed to find the role of total quality management in achieving the
competitive feature , study Assalaya Sugar Factory status for the year 2016. Where
the main problem of this research was the ignorance of Assalaya sugar factory in
applying the total quality management , and using competitive strategy based on
price rather than quality , resulting in increasing tasks time and supervisory works,
absence of consumer preference for products . According to the research importance
and problem solving , the following methods had been used: descriptive method ,
historical method , state study method . Data extraction by using Statistical Package
for the Social Sciences program (Spss) in addition to using the primary and
secondary sources of data and information .The research had tested the following
Hypothesis : There is a statistically significant relationship between increasing
customer care and achieving the competitive feature in Assalaya sugar factory ,
There is a statistically significant relationship between the senior management
commitment to the philosophy of total quality and achieving the competitive feature
in Assalaya sugar factory , There is statistically significant relationship between the
participation of workers in administrative decision -making and achieving the
competitive feature in Assalaya sugar factory , There is statistically significant
relationshipbetween the continuous improvements in products and achieving the
competitive feature in Assalaya sugar factory. The research had also accomplished
the following results : The factory products are distinguished from others and
invented by customer desires , and the senior management publish and generalize the
quality policy to increase the awareness of it and put the quality policy within their
future goals , The factory works on solving the causes of poor products for the
achievement of competitive feature , the factory works on designing methods and
systems for the continues control and supervisory for products quality that
contributes on achieving the competitive feature in Assalaya sugar factory . The
research had led the following results : the factory should work to win customers
loyalty by taking care of their proposals and working on their implementation , The
factory must anticipate the expectations and needs of the customer in order to provide
products that meet his requirements and work on his happiness and satisfaction , The
factory should work to involve the workers in making managerial decisions and
spreading the self-participation and the one team spirit , Finally the research
concluded with a proposal for future studies to fill the scientific and the practical gap
which the research didn’t expose to them .
