The Effect of Demotivation on EFL Sudanese Students at Secondary Level

dc.description	The study aims to investigate the effect of demotivation on EFL at the Sudanese students at secondary Level. Students demotivation was investigated through the variable of teachers, educational environment, curriculum, socio-economical and psychological factors. The study adopted the descriptive analytical method. Data was collected by a questionnaire which was administrated to 100 students at the 3rd level of the secondary stage in Al-Gazira Aba town at Rabak Locality in the White Nile State in the academic year (2016) chosen randomly. They were 50 males and 50 females randomly selected. The data was analyzed by using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). Findings revealed that: demotivation towards learning English as a foreign language is a real problem that face secondary school students, the secondary schools students are affected with positive and negative factors during learning English language, teachers are not trained enough to help students to be motivated to learn English Language, students have not shown negative feelings towards English language, but large syllabus and difficult English textbooks are the major causes which demotivated them to learn English language effectively. Accordingly, the researcher recommended that: text books and examinations system should be modified to meet the students' needs, students motivation can be raised by enhancing their positive attitudes and changing negative attitudes toward learning English Language, interest toward the English culture can be raised by exposing students to literary work for example: exposing the students to English short stories, poems and plays that might increase the students’ motivation, English language teachers need more training in order to improve and develop their competence and performance in teaching process.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	تهدف الدراسة إلى تحري تأثير نقص الدافعية علي تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية لطلاب المرحلة الثانوية بالمدارس الثانوية، وتم التقصي لتأثير نقص الدافعية من خلال المتغيرات الآتية:- المعلم، البيئة التعليمية، المنهج، العوامل الإجتماعية والإقتصادية والنفسية، تبنت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. تم جمع البيانات عن طريق إستبانة ومن ثم تم إختيار 010 طالبا بالمستوي الثالث بالمرحلة الثانوية بولاية النيل الأبيض - محليه ربك- مدينه الجزيرة أبا منهم خمسون ذكوراً وخمسون إناثاً تم إختيارهم بطريقة عشوائية وتم تحليل البيانات بإستخدام الحزم الإحصائية للعلوم الإجتماعية، وتوصلت الدراسة إلي النتائج التالية : يعتبر نقص الدافعية مشكلة حقيقية تواجه طلاب المرحلة الثانوية, تأثر الطلاب بالعوامل الايجابية والسلبية أثناء تعلمهم للغة الانجليزية, عدم التدريب الكافي للمعلمين يحول دون تمكنهم من مساعده الطلاب لاكتساب اللغة الانجليزية, ميول الطلاب في تعلم اللغة الانجليزية ولكن صعوبة المنهج والنصوص التي يحتويها هي الأسباب الأساسية لإخفاقهم لتعلم اللغة الانجليزية بكفاءة، وفقا لذلك يوصي الباحث بأن يكون نظام الإمتحانات وما تحويه هذه النصوص متماشيا مع إحتياجات الطلاب, ويمكن رفع الدافعية بتعزيز المواقف الإيجابية وتغيير السلبية منها. وكذلك زيادة رغبه الطلاب بعرض عدد من الأعمال الأدبية مثل القصص القصيرة والقصائد والمسرحيات. كما يوصي الباحث بالتدريب الكافي لمعلمي اللغة الإنجليزية وذلك من أجل تحسين الكفاءة والآداء.	en_US
