http://dspace.mahdi.edu.sd:8080/xmlui//xmlui/handle/123456789/204 Tue, 07 Apr 2026 14:48:32 GMT 2026-04-07T14:48:32Z http://dspace.mahdi.edu.sd:8080/xmlui//xmlui/handle/123456789/1244 Investigating word-Formation Problems El-Hafiz Mohammad AzeimYousif, : Mohammad تناولت الدراسة أحد مجالات علم اللغة الانجليزية، وهو علم دراسة الكلمة فى اللغة الانجليزية ويدرس لطلاب الصف الثالث قسم اللغة الانجليزية كلية الاداب بجامعة الامام المهدى. إعتمد الباحث المنهج التاريخي والوصفي التحليلي، هدف البحث إلى معالجة مشاكل تركيب الكلمات التي تركز على الكلمات المستعارة من اللغات الاخرى، والكلمات المختصرة لطول حروفها، والكلمات المستعارة من المصطلحات التجارية، وأيضاً الكلمات التى أضيف لها بعض الحروف سواء فى مقدمة الكلمة أو آخرها، ومن أجل تحقيق أهداف البحث قام الباحث بتصميم إستبيان في صورة إختبار حول إستخدام الكلمة، يوزع بين الطلاب المعنيين، إستهدف الباحث عينة حصرية شاملة من (40) طالبًا تتراوح أعمارهم بين 20 إلى 25 عاماً، نظراً لصغر حجم مجتمع البحث كمعيار ليكون في متناول اليد وسهل ومغطى 100 ٪. وقد توصل الباحث للعديد من النتائج ومنها: أن بعض الكلمات ليس فى اللغة الانجليزية بل تعتبر مستعارة من لغات أخرى، وأن هنالك بعض الكلمات تختصر لكثرة حروفها تسهيلاً لعملية الإتصال بين متحدثي اللغة. بناءاً على هذه النتائج يوصى الباحث المعلمين والأساتذة بمراعاة الإهتمام بمادة تركيب الكلمات فى اللغة الإنجليزية، لأن اللغة الإنجليزية تعتبر من أكثر اللغات المتطورة فى العالم، حيث أنه تتفاعل مع كثير من اللغات الأخرى، كما تتفاعل أيضاً مع جوانب الحياة التجارية بأخذ بعض الكلمات من أسماء تجارية لتكون جزء من اللغة، بالإضافة إلى مراعاة تدريس هذه المادة فى مراحل مبكرة حتى تتحقق الإستفادة القصوى من هذه المادة مما يساعد الطلاب فى بقية الكورسات المقررة. The research one of the linguistics field particularly morphology problem which taught to the students of the third grade Department of English Language, Faculty of Arts, Imam Al-Mahdi University. The researcher adopted the descriptive, analytical and historical method. The aim of the study is to treat word-formation problems which focus on borrowing words from other language and clipping, coinage and affixation, to achieve the aims of the study the researcher designed a test questionnaire to make a survey about the use of the word-formation among students of English department level 3, the researcher targeted an exclusive samples of (40) students with the range of ages between 20 to 25 years, due to the size of population community as standard to be in hand and easy and covered 100 %. The study find many results which include that English language has borrowed some words from other languages and takes some words from traded names and cutting the long words in their communications in addition to finding several sequences that explained within the research. According to these results the researcher recommended, that teachers should be careful about the word-formation and show how is English language considered as one of the developing languages in the world and how the language interacts with other languages and aspect of trade names, also teachers should teach this subject in early stages that make the students get high benefit from these lectures Mon, 01 Jan 2018 00:00:00 GMT http://dspace.mahdi.edu.sd:8080/xmlui//xmlui/handle/123456789/1244 2018-01-01T00:00:00Z http://dspace.mahdi.edu.sd:8080/xmlui//xmlui/handle/123456789/1156 The Necessity of Listening Skills in Improving Students' Performance in ESL Mohammed Elhussien Ali, Gada هذا البحث تم إعداده ليتقصي الحوجة إلي إدخال مهارة الاستماع للمنهج و ذلك لعدم تضمين هذه المهارة في المنهج بواسطة معدي المنهج بالرغم من أهميتها في تحسين النطق والطلاقة. لذا اقترح الباحث آن الاستماع يساعد في تحسين اللغة المتحدثة للطلاب وأيضا تحل مشاكلهم في نطق اللغة وطلاقة الحديث بالإضافة إلي أن الاستماع ومشاهدة الأفلام يجعل التعليم أكثر تشويقا. أخذت العينة عشوائيا من مدرستين حكوميتين وهما (الجديدة بنات) (والأهلية بنين) لإجراء استبيان ل46 فرد علي كل عينة 23 و تم تحليل الاستبيان بواسطة برنامج التحليل الإحصائي (SPSS). وأيضا تم تصميم مقابلة مع المعلمين الذين دعموا وجهة النظر عن الحاجة للاستماع. هذه الأدوات قادت إلي النتائج الآتية, ذلك أن الاستماع مهم في تحسين النطق في اللغة والطلاقة في الحديث ، و يحتاج الطلاب لتعلم اللغة الانجليزية لممارسة نشاطاتهم الحياتية لاكتساب المعرفة و التوا صل مع الآخرين , بالإضافة إلي أن الذين بدأوا تعلمهم بالاستماع الجيد أصبحوا طلاباً ناجحين وأيضا الاستماع للوسائل التعليمية تساعد الطلاب علي القراءة و الكتابة و التحدث بطلاقة. This research is prepared to investigate the need of introducing listening skill to the curriculum because this skill in not included by the curriculum designer, in spite of its importance in improving of pronunciation and fluency. This why the researcher hypothesized that listening helps to improve student's spoken language, also can solve students problems in pronunciation and fluency. More -over listening to movies make the students more interested in learning. Sample was taken randomly from two governmental schools which are (Elgadeeda and Alahlia secondary schools for girls and boys respectively, to administer a questionnaire, (46) individuals each one is (23), which is been analyzed using SPSS package. There is an interview constructed to the teacher to support the need of listening, so this tool can lead to the results that drawn as is mentioned. Listening is important in improving pronunciation and fluency , the students need to learn English for their daily life activities to get knowledge and communicate effectively. This study aims to investigate the Students performance in listening comprehension. Listening is one of important skills in learning English. The study investigates the problems faced by students when they listen to English. The case of the study is secondary schools students. The questionnaire was used in data collection, the researcher used descriptive method. The findings shows that accent, speed of speech and vocabulary were the great problems faced the students in secondary schools. Sun, 01 Jan 2017 00:00:00 GMT http://dspace.mahdi.edu.sd:8080/xmlui//xmlui/handle/123456789/1154 2017-01-01T00:00:00Z http://dspace.mahdi.edu.sd:8080/xmlui//xmlui/handle/123456789/1139 Investigating the Problems that Sudanese Students Face in Spelling Hassan Salamah, Ahmed هدفت هذه الدراسة لمعرفة الأخطاء الإملائية لدارسي اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة اجنبية. حيث استخدم الباحث طريقة الاختبار الإملائي لجمع المعلومات ويتكون الاختبار الإملائي من (30) ثلاثون كلمة لتتكتب خلال (45) دقيقة وتشمل الدراسة مجتمع الصف الأول الثانوي في كل مدارس كنانة. وتتكون هذه العينة من (180) دارساً من الذين تتفاوت اعمارهم ما بين (14 – 16) سنة, وقد تم اختيارهم عشوائياً وهم يدرسون اللغة الانجليزية كلغة اجنبية لمدة ست سنوات, وكانت النتيجة ان أي من الدارسين لم يحصل على الدرجة الكاملة و ايضا هنالك عدم تطابق بين الحروف و الاصوات بالنسبة للكلمات و الذي يجب ان يكون واضحا ليساعد علي كتابة كلمات صحيحة . ثم قام الباحث بتدريس القواعد الاملائية في مختلف المواقع والاستخدامات, ثم إعادة الاختبار مرة ثانية لمقارنة النتائج السابقة و اللاحقة , ولاحظ التطور في الكتابة الصحيحة للكلمات ومن ثم توصل الباحث الي أن الضعف الإملائي سببه قلة معرفة الدارسين بهذه القوانين ويوصي الباحث أن يقوم المعلمون بتدريس الطلاب القواعد الإملائية لكتابة الكلمات بالطريقة الصحيحةليساعد ذلك على كتابة صيغ صحيحة للكلمات متى ما احيج لذلك لترقية مهاراتهم الكتابية. The aim of this study is to investigate theEnglish spelling errors made by students of foreign language learners. The test is used as adata collecting method. Leaners were given spelling test which consists of (30) words to be written in 45 minutes. The population of the study includes all the students atkenana high secondary schools, first class. The sample of this study consists of (180) learners who are about (14 – 16) years old. They have been chosen randomly and who have been study English as a foreign language for six years and the most important finding was that none of the learners got full marks.Also, there is a miss matching between orthography and the pronunciation of words, whichshould be made clear so as to help to write correct words. then the researcher taught the learners the spelling rules concerning words in different situations and usages, then the researcher repeated the test to compare the results before and after. this time he discovered that the defect is due to the lack of the acknowledge of spelling rules concerning learners. The researcher recommends that teachers must teach learners the spelling rules of writing words correctly to enable them to write the correct forms of words whenever needed to promote writing skills.
